Hexagon Tiles

Hexagon tiles have been present in design for hundreds of years. Traditionally, hex tiles were used in bathrooms and were usually in patterns of white with black accents. Small 1” wide black and white hexagon tiles in flower patterns have been seen on bathroom floors a very long time. But lately, hexagon tile has increased in popularity and they're not just for flooring anymore. So let’s look at some awesome uses for hex tiles!
Hexagon tiles have made a HUGE impact on backsplash design and if you’re looking to add some texture and life to a neutral kitchen, hex tiles are up for the task! Use a solid colour for the tile and a different colour grout – it creates a beautiful look with lots of contrast.
There is no rule in design that says you can’t mix & match tile in a space. Use a combination of tiles in different shapes and sizes to go with your hex tiles – rectangles, squares, etc!
If you want a touch of colour in your design, then add a few coloured hex tiles into the mix! A few coloured tiles scattered among neutral tiles will make any room come alive! This is a great idea for a children’s bathroom or play area!
Hexagon tile are not just for bathrooms and kitchens! Use them in hallways, entryways, offices, mudrooms, etc. They create a beautiful look no matter where they are!
Why not try mixing hexagons with rectangle or square tiles to create an accent for your space. If you have rectangular tiles in your custom shower, do a section of your shower wall in hex tiles to make a statement! Or use the hexagon tiles as a border around your square tiles to give the space a classic look!
This classic and charming shape deserves it's place in the spotlight! You can spice up any wall by adding textured or patterned hexagon tiles!
